Make a beautiful, feature-rich satchel and learn to work with zippers and hardware.
Level: Intermediate
What we’ll do:
- Install hardware (D-rings, sliders, rivets, etc.)
- Sew zipper pockets and a flap
- Manage layers for neat, strong seams
Format: 4-week series - 2.5 hours per week
BYO sewing machine, or email katherine@tinycheerhandmade.com to rent one ($10/session).
INCLUDED in your class fee:
- 2 yards (based on 20” wide) medium-weight fusible woven interfacing (SF101)
- (3) 1" Swivel hooks
- (3) 1" D-rings
- (2) 1" Strap adjuster
- Nylon zipper & pull (brass finish)
- 2-5 double-cap rivets (optional)
- 1" Non-adjustable leather strap
Option: BYO fabric & coordinating thread, or select the "fabric & thread included" option at checkout. If you are bringing your own fabric, you will need:

Exterior: 0.5 yards 13-13.5 oz waxed canvas (available from King Textiles or Emmaline Bags)
- Accent Fabric: One fat quarter of cotton-linen blend or tweed (I like the canvas fabric from Rifle Paper Co!)
- Lining: 0.75 yard of cotton-linen blend or quilting cotton (based on 44" wide fabric) (this is my favorite fabric to use for linings - no interfacing needed!)
Schedule:
- Day: Saturdays
- Time: 9:00 am–11:30 am
