Join us for this hands-on sewing workshop where you'll create your very own Wool + Wax Tote using the popular pattern from Noodlehead. This 2-class session gives you the time and support you need to complete your tote at a relaxed pace. Leave with a gorgeous, handcrafted bag you’ll be proud to carry—or gift!
This tote is the perfect everyday bag—stylish, sturdy, and practical. Designed to showcase beautiful canvas, waxed canvas, or wool, it's an excellent project for intermediate sewists or adventurous beginners looking to grow their bag-making skills.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- How to work with heavier fabrics like waxed canvas or wool
- Tips for adding sturdy leather or fabric handles
- Techniques for sewing lining with interior pockets
- How to install rivets (optional) for a professional finish
What’s included:
- A printed copy of the Wool + Wax Tote pattern by Noodlehead (used with permission)
- 1/2 yard waxed canvas fabric for contrast base (color TBD)
- (2) 1" wide leather handles, 28" long
- 2 1/4 yards fusible woven interfacing (Pellon SF101)
- (3) 8-9 mm double cap rivets
- Instruction and guidance in a small-group setting
- A fun, encouraging atmosphere to boost your confidence
What to bring:
- 3/4 yard exterior fabric
- 1 yard lining fabric (non-directional)
- Coordinating thread
Recommended Fabrics: Waxed canvas for contrast bottom. Cotton or blended canvas, waxed canvas, denim, wool, twill, home dec for Exterior and Lining.
